Suturing

Suturing

If a patient sustains a large cut to the skin (laceration), stitching (suturing) can be performed here in the practice under local anaesthetic, unless the GP feels that referral to the Emergency Department is more appropriate.

The GP will provide information regarding wound care and follow up.

After a specific duration, the patient will be invited back to have the sutures removed.

The cost of most surgical procedures is often settled by patient’s health insurer.
